Charlie Kirk Shot at Turning Point USA Utah Event

TEXAS – Turning Point USA has confirmed that conservative pundit, and CEO and co-founder of the organization, Charlie Kirk, was shot today at their meet and greet in Utah. This is but one example of the pain wrought across our country—felt by all—because Americans remain unprotected against mass violence from unregulated guns.

“Policies that address the devastating and uniquely American epidemic of gun violence and protect responsible gun ownership are not mutually exclusive,” said Progress Texas Executive Director Kathleen Thompson. “We must stand up to the dangerous influence of the gun lobby and implement common sense measures, including universal background checks, “red flag” laws, as well as ending the gun show loophole and sale of military grade weapons.”

“Too many Texans know this truth well: no one is safe without regulations on deadly weapons, and we’ve seen the brunt of this inaction across our state: from Uvalde to Sante Fe to El Paso to Sutherland Springs. No one, not school students, not movie theater attendees, not Charlie Kirk, should be subjected to this brutal fate, and the path forward must involve lifesaving action against gun violence,” said Progress Texas Advocacy Coordinator Tatum Owens.
