America spends a mind boggling $40 billion per year on a broken, ineffective, and racially biased (see our previous blog) criminal justice system. We are home to just 5% of the worlds population, but 25% of the world's entire prison population.

Last Sunday, HBO aired VICE's new special "Fixing The System" - a must-watch 1 hour report highlighting these issues and featuring President Obama's historic, first-ever, presidential visit to a federal prison.

President Obama sat down with 6 prisoners, all convicted of non-violent drug crimes, to talk about their lives, their experiences, and their future.

It is truly a must-watch special.
