Texas Senate Republicans passed a bill that would license for-profit, immigrant family detention centers as child care facilities. Democrats railed against Senate Bill 1018, which would allow lower standards in order to license these "baby jails." The bill was written by GEO Group, the nation's second largest for-profit prison company.
