Digital Intern

Progress Texas is seeking a digital intern to join our team.

This is a great opportunity to work with one of the most well-known progressive organizations in Texas as we tackle the 2021 Texas legislative session. 

Who We Are

Progress Texas is a rapid response media organization promoting progressive messages and actions. We’re passionate about media, politics, and inclusive public policy, and aim to increase civic engagement among Millennial and Gen X audiences, roughly those aged 25-49.

Last year our team generated 22.8 million online impressions, more than 1,325 print and broadcast news stories, and we’d like you to help us continue to amplify the progressive message in 2021 and beyond. Learn more on our Who We Are page, and follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram

Duties

  • Pull media clips for Progress Texas as needed

  • Assist with drafting social media content including photos and videos

  • Assist with collecting content for email campaigns

  • Assist with maintaining web platforms

  • Monitor digital and social media analytics

  • Track digital media landscape and highlight new trends for Progress Texas

Compensation & Time Commitment   

Interns will receive $15 per hour, with a flexible work schedule of 15 hours per week.

2021 digital internship will begin as soon as possible. 

Qualifications 

The ideal candidate will be:

  • Committed to progressive issues and ideals

  • Comfortable creating video content for Instagram or TikTok

  • Adept at using creative software such as Adobe Creative Suite or Canva

  • Creative and willing to push the envelope

  • Excellent at verbal and written communication

  • Organized and detail-oriented in fast-paced work environment

  • Hardworking, able to take charge of independent projects, and confident enough to proactively contribute to team issue campaigns
