TEXAS – Progress Texas enthusiastically endorses Sheila Jackson Lee for Houston Mayor and Chris Hollins for Houston City Controller.

“Voters have a chance to pick immensely qualified progressive candidates who are ready for the job,” said Kathleen Thompson, executive director at Progress Texas. “Our endorsed candidates will move Houston forward, fight to expand opportunity, and defend reproductive and civil rights.”

Houston Mayor: Sheila Jackson Lee

After decades in Congress, Jackson Lee is coming home to serve at City Hall to improve public safety, infrastructure, housing, helping working families thrive, support reproductive and civil rights, and promote small businesses. 

City Controller: Chris Hollins

Chris Hollins has a record of innovations and will work to build a safer Houston, invest in its future, expand economic and educational opportunities, and safeguard city tax dollars. Hollins’ management consultant and county clerk background have prepared him well.
