New Poll Finds 63% of Texans Support Hearings for SCOTUS Vacancy

Even a majority of Republican voters believe Merrick Garland deserves a confirmation hearing

A new poll finds that 63% of Texas voters want a confirmation hearing for Merrick Garland, President Obama's nominee to fill the Supreme Court vacancy created by the death of Antonin Scalia.

Merrick Garland, who is currently enduring the longest confirmation delay in Supreme Court history, found support across party lines. According to Public Policy Polling (PPP), who conducted the poll: "73% of Democrats, 63% of independents, and even 55% of Republicans support moving Garland's nomination forward by holding those hearings."
