The GOP wants to wage a war on women's rights . . . and they want women to sit quietly while they do it

Just when you thought this legislative session couldn't get any more absurd . . .

Last month, a bipartisan poll showed 80% of Texan voters did not want an abortion debate in the special legislative session. If Governor Perry and the Republicans in the legislature had bothered to pay attention to the majority of Texans, they might have completed their work and saved millions of taxpayer dollars.

Instead, the clock has run out and Governor Rick Perry has called a 3rd special session in an attempt to pass a transportation funding bill.

Republican State Rep. Giovanni Capriglione is now blaming the need for a new session on Sen. Wendy Davis, and demanding that she foot the $1+ million bill for the 2nd special legislative session because of her filibuster. Really.

Translation: "sit down and shut up."

The GOP wants to wage a war on women's rights . . . and they want women to sit quietly while they do it.

During the 1st special session the GOP put primary politics ahead of solving our states long term issues or the priorities of an overwhelming amount of Texans. The GOP had the opportunity and votes to pass a transpiration spending bill but decided to wage a war on women's health instead. They have no one to blame but themselves for the rising costs of Governor Perry's special sessions.
