This poll from Texas Tech University gauges Texans' opinions on candidates and current political issues. 53% responded that marriages between same sex couples should be recognized as valid, with the same rights as traditional marriage. 61% said that illegal immigrants should be allowed to stay and apply for U.S. citizenship; 19% said they should be required to leave the U.S.

Texas Tribune and University of Texas Poll for June 2013 shows majority a of Texans are unfamiliar with Wendy Davis, (58 percent) with 38 percent of voters saying they will vote against Rick Perry. The poll also covers a numerous variety of topics including abortion, immigration and gay marriage all showing a departure from strong opposition to all of the three different topics.

This Texas Tribune and University of Texas Poll for February 2012 shows Dewhurst at 38 percent and Ted Cruz at 27 percent with Rick Santorum leading Republican Presidential primary race at 45 percent, and polling at 51 percent against Obama.

This Texas Tribune and University of Texas Poll for February 2011 asks registered voters opinions on various issues including the use of the Rainy Day Fund with 55 percent of voters polled said to not spend it. It also shows that 54 percent of voters polled support for a mandatory sonogram before an abortion procedure.
