UT/TT Statewide Poll October 2013

This Texas Tribune and University of Texas Poll for October 2013 polls on a variety of issues including the Affordable Care Act, with Greg Abbott's approval ratings at 36 percent to 24 percent unfavorable, and Wendy Davis polling at 37 percent favorability with 31 percent unfavorable.

PPP - Majority of Texans Support Immigration Reform Legislation

In a poll where 60% of the people surveyed are over the age of 50 and only 14% are 35 or younger, an overwhelming majority 68% of people said that it is very important for the U.S. to fix its immigration policy and 48% strongly supported a law that would force undocumented immigrants to pay a penalty, learn English, pass a criminal background check, and also wait a minimum of 13 years to be a citizen.

This Texas Tribune and University of Texas Poll for February 2012 shows Dewhurst at 38 percent and Ted Cruz at 27 percent with Rick Santorum leading Republican Presidential primary race at 45 percent, and polling at 51 percent against Obama.

This Texas Tribune and University of Texas Poll for October 2011 shows Ted Cruz polling at 10 percent in a crowded field where 50 percent were undecided and Dewhurst with 22 percent.

Comprehensive Immigration Reform Support

Texans were polled to learn what their opinions were on comprehensive immigration reform as a whole as well as the individual provisions. People who identified as living in a rural setting were most likely to support increased border security. Liberals were most likely to support comprehensive immigration reform.

UT/TT Statewide Poll May 2010

This Texas Tribune and University of Texas Poll polled registered voters in May of 2010 and polled various questions regarding the issues of immigration and a path to citizenship. With the economy still polling as the most important issue to Texans, it shows that Rick Perry's current job approval rating was almost split with 43 percent somewhat or strongly approve and 39 percent somewhat or strongly disapprove.

This Texas Tribune and University of Texas Poll for September of 2010 polled on various issues including immigration, particulary in light of Arizona passing a new immigration law. It also shows that most Texans did not think things were going well in Afghanistan and 29 percent of Texans believe President Obama to be a Muslim.

UT/TT Statewide Poll February 2011

This Texas Tribune and University of Texas Poll for February 2011 asks registered voters opinions on various issues including the use of the Rainy Day Fund with 55 percent of voters polled said to not spend it. It also shows that 54 percent of voters polled support for a mandatory sonogram before an abortion procedure.

With the economy still polled as the most important issue to voters at 29 precent, this Texas Tribune and University of Texas Poll for May 2011 also shows that most voters are against a pathway to citizenship with the exception of military service as a route to legal status.
