Getting our courts in the debate #TFJAction

On October 2, WFAA-TV in Dallas is hosting a debate between Texas U.S. Senate candidates Republican Ted Cruz and Democrat Paul Sadler. We are encouraging the moderators to ask what Cruz and Sadler plan to do about the judicial vacancies in Texas.

We want to know what our candidates for Senate will do when they take office. There are seats in our Texas courts that have been waiting for Senate action for almost 4 years. Simply put, we want to know, "What steps will you take to ensure vacancies on the Texas bench are filled during your first year in office?"

How can you help?

Judicial vacancies are important issue facing Texas. We need to know what candidates Paul Sadler and Ted Cruz will do to fix this problem and make sure we have qualified Judges in Texas. Here is more information on the issue of Texas vacancies and why I think it is an important issue to ask our candidates during the October 2 debate - bit.ly/TexansForAFairJudiciary.

Texas has led the country with record federal court vacancies. Our courts don’t have the judges they need to resolve uncertainty and settle disputes for businesses and consumers, hear cases on the environment, women's health, and so many other important issues in a timely manner.
